PRAYERS THAT GET RESULTS

prayers

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD’ (1 Samuel 1:15 KJV).

Prayer is a communication between you and God. It is an interaction that goes beyond the theatrics of gesticulations to a deep communion between you and God. Prayer is the menu of the soul; the source of our supply. In prayers, the secrets of life are unveiled and we are able to see life from God’s perspective. If we must win over trials and temptations, we must learn to come out from among men, contend earnestly for our faith and present our case to God in prayers.

Great prayers that produce results…

ARISE FROM A DEEP PASSIONATE PLEA FROM WITHIN YOUR HEART
It stems from something dear to your heart that you intensely desire that the Lord will do for you. Prophet Jeremiah said, ‘Righteous are you, O LORD, when I complain to you; yet I would plead my case before you…’ (Jeremiah 12:1 ESV). 1 Samuel 1:13 records that ‘Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard…’ She pleaded with the Lord from the depths of her heart and the Lord heard her and gave her children. Hezekiah pleaded his case with God. ‘Please, O LORD, remember how I have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly’ (Isaiah 38:3 ESV). God extended his life! What do you desire of the Lord? Take it to the Lord in prayers and plead your case before Him.

MUST BE A PERSONAL DEALING OF A MAN’S SOUL WITH GOD
A time comes in your life when you have to take the issue personally to God; when it goes from just speaking words to an urgent appeal for the desired change, a time when your soul connects with its maker. The Psalmist declared, ‘Hear my prayer, Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.’ (Psalm 102:1-2 NIV). In Psalm 143:1,7, He says, ‘O LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief… Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

MEANS POURING OUT YOUR HEART AND LAYING HOLD OF THE PROMISES
Prayer affords you the opportunity to persuade God about your situation and remind Him of His promises in the Scriptures concerning your life. 1 John 5:14 assures us, ‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.’ Go through the Word of God and write out His promises concerning that situation in your life. As you pray these scriptures, and pour your heart to Him, I believe you will receive the answers to your petitions.

Prayer is a place to talk things over with God, a place to take instruction, a place to seek advice, and a place for advocacy.

God bless you.
